Executive Director
Cali Vashou is a Web Architect with more than 25 years of experience designing and building reliable digital systems. She is also an entrepreneur and IT consultant who brings strategic planning, operational structure, and long-term sustainability to HeartSpace Arts. Her leadership blends disciplined execution with a deep commitment to mission-driven work.
Cali is currently pursuing licensure as a therapist and has spent nearly a decade supporting trauma survivors. That work showed her a consistent gap in the support system: children living alongside stress, instability, and trauma often go unseen. Parents may be fighting to survive and heal themselves, and kids learn to carry heavy emotions quietly without safe outlets.
Cali’s vision for HeartSpace is grounded in lived experience and evidence-based understanding of trauma. As a mother of five, she has witnessed how creative expression can help young people regulate emotion, build confidence, and find words for experiences they cannot easily explain. She has seen singing, dance, writing, and art help children move from shutdown and self-doubt to connection, voice, and growth. For Cali, the arts are not extracurricular. They are a practical, effective pathway to healing and resilience.
Through HeartSpace Arts, Cali is committed to reaching youth early and breaking cycles of trauma before they become identity. She is building safe, structured, high-quality creative spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and thrive.
Cali Vashou brings a unique and essential blend of skillsets that support the growth and long-term success of HeartSpace Arts Center.
